A two-speed gear for an electric tool, which is of simple construction and which allows a compact design, is proposed. The gear is characterized in that the gearwheel (9) arranged on the output shaft (7) is provided with an internal toothing (6) and an external toothing (15), there being the possibility, by means of an adjusting member (16), of selectively bringing the internal toothing into engagement with a pinion (5) of the armature shaft of the drive motor and the external toothing into engagement with a gearwheel (14) arranged on the countershaft (10) in the output region of the latter (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
