<p>A colour hard copy system for producing a colour hard picture from colour video signals is characterised by the provision in combination of a front end circuit (4) to which the video signals are fed and in which they are converted into digital signals and sampled by a plurality of threshold values from a threshold voltage generating circuit (10); a picture memory (8) in which picture information output digital signals produced by said end circuit (4) are written in by prescribed write in addresses from a write-in address control circuit (19) said write-in addresses being based on a selected method of representation of a multi-colour gradation picture; a read-out control circuit (33) for reading out picture data from the memory (8) based on said selected method of representation; and a coloured picture printer (28) for printing signals derived from the read out signals from the memory (8). </p>
