PURPOSE:To enable a printing column sensor to be checked with an arbitrary timing without requiring any manual operation of a clerk in charge or the like, by providing a bar code for checking a printing column sensor, in a fixed state at a detecting position of the sensor. CONSTITUTION:A passbook 40 is inserted through a passbook-inserting port 7 in the direction of an arrow D, and is so fed that a bar code printed at a left top part of a page to indicate the page and transaction data printing columns provided at left end parts of printing columns are passed through a detecting range 2a of an image sensor 2. A printing columns sensor 1 detects the bar code 41 and the transaction dates printed in the printing columns 42a-42d, and informs a slave CPU12d of the detected data. The slave CPU12d drives feeding rollers 8 through a passbook feeder 35 to feed the passbook 40 so that a printing column 42e is opposed to a printing head 9, and drives the head 9 to print the content of new transaction. Since the bar code is printed on the passbook at a part to be moved on a passbook feeding passage, the printing column sensor can be checked with an arbitrary timing. |
