PURPOSE:To enable the degree of an increase in an error to be recognized from the area of a display mark indicating the present position of a running vehicle by displaying the display mark relatively enlarged with respect to the size of a road net map with a predetermined contraction scale in accordance with the increase of the running distance of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:For displaying running errors produced in accordance with the increase of the running distance of a vehicle, the relative size of a cursor spot relative to the scale of a road net map is computed and displayed on display means 4 in accordance with the running errors. The radius Rn of a cursor spot indicative of the present position is computed by an expression Rn=0.5XEXDn, where E is the error rate peculiar to a navigator apparatus produced in accordance with the increase of the running distance and Dn is the whole running distance to the present position computed by position computing means 3 every constant period. Therefore, the display area of the cursor spot is increased in accordance with the increase of the whole running distance Dn and the degree of the increase in the errors can be recognized from the area of the cursor spot, enabling a driver to know the time to again set the correct present position to the navigator apparatus. |
