摘要 In an automatic compressed-gas splicing device for the knotless joining of two threads made of fibres, a splicing head (2) is provided which has a splicing channel (8) open at its ends to receive the threads (10, 11) to be joined. At least one compressed-gas channel (12) opens, symmetrically with respect to the splicing channel centre, in the splicing channel base. A cover (31) for covering the open splicing channel side is then provided after the laying in of the threads (10, 11). Outside the splicing channel (8), clamping jaws (63, 65) are arranged close to its ends for clamping the threads (10, 11). To obtain a stronger splice join with lower flexural loading of the threads, the splicing channel (8) is spanned by transverse webs (9) which are at a distance from the closed cover (31) which corresponds to the thickness of the threads (10, 11) to be joined and at a distance from the splicing channel base. The threads (10, 11) can be clamped at the clamping jaws (63, 65) approximately in the plane of the transverse webs (9) and the free passage cross-section of the splicing channel (8) between the transverse webs (9) and the splicing channel base is a multiple of the passage cross-section between the transverse webs (9) and the closed cover (31). <IMAGE>
