<p>PURPOSE:To separate and condensate oxygen having a high purity with a good efficiency by contacting a gas contg. oxygen with a specific phenol compd. to take the oxygen into said compd. and then, by discharging the oxygen which has been taken in the phenol compd. CONSTITUTION:The phenol compd. shown by formula I wherein R1 is a mesityl group, or the methyl group in which all substituents are substituted, by a ethyl group or propyl group R2 is a mesityl group, or the methyl group in which all substituents are substituted by an ethyl group, a phenyl group, or a phenyl group having a substd. group contg. a nitrogen or an oxygen atoms at metha position of the phenol ring, such as the compds. shown by formulas II and III, is used. Preferably, the prescribed phenol compd. is dissolved to a protonic solvent such as a t-butylalcohol and a tetrahydrofuran contg. a strong base such as NaOH and KOH. The obtd. oxygen absorbing liquid is contacted with the gas contg. the oxygen such as an air to take the oxygen into the phenolic compd. followed by discharging the oxygen which has taken into the phenolic compd. to separate and condense the oxygen contd. in the gas.</p> |
