The device for the balancing of weights on the crankshaft (12) of a crank press has a first balancing weight (24) which is fixedly connected to a main section (12b) of the shaft and the centre of gravity of which is displaced by the rotary spindle of the crankshaft in the opposite direction to the centre of gravity of the eccentric shaft section (12c) of the crankshaft (12). A second balancing weight (30) is rotatably mounted on a main section (12a) of the crankshaft and rotates in the opposite direction to and at the same speed as the crankshaft (12). The centre of gravity of the second balancing weight (30) is displaced by the rotary spindle of the crankshaft in the same direction as the centre of gravity of the first balancing weight (24) when the press slide (14) is situated in the top or bottom dead centre. The device guarantees the balancing of weights with respect to the eccentrically rotating section (12c) of the crankshaft and to the reciprocating press slide (14), owing to the combined action of the first and second balancing weights (24, 30). <IMAGE>
