摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the capacity of the memory 10 of a binary image filtering circuit which utilizes the memory by processing picture elements of black-and- white binary image data separately as a part which has only determined variation and a part which varies at random. CONSTITUTION:The noticed picture element of picture element data consisting of N bits is inputted to and held in a part 31 of a line buffer 3 through a rearranging circuit 2, the part which varies at random is held in a part 32, and a part whose variation number is fixed is held in a part 33. A mask pattern setting means 4 sets mask data in mask pattern registers 51 and 52 and a filter pattern in filter pattern registers 61 and 62. Then, the data in the part 33 of the line buffer 3 is masked by a mask circuit, compared with the contents of a filter pattern register by comparators 81 and 82, and stored in a memory 10 through an encoder 9 together with the data in the parts 31 and 32. A selector 12 selects the noticed picture element in the part 31 and filtered data from the memory 10 with the output of ORing between the outputs of the comparators 81 and 82.
