The invention describes a method of receiving excreta from the human intestine with a natural outlet in which a gas-tight and liquid-tight bag (1, 2) is fastened on the human body in such a way that a bag opening (3) and the intestinal outlet oppose each other with tight sealing toward the outside. The bag preferably has an elongate, rectangular and flat shape. Inside the bag there is expediently an insert (9) of absorbent material for binding the liquid constituents of the excreta. For improved introduction of the excreta in the bag and for better distribution in the latter at least the insert layer located closest to the bag opening has a recess (10) which coincides with the opening.
