The torque wrench has an indicator (14) which is attached to a wrench eye (10) and records deviations with respect to the lever (12) which is bent when torque is exerted. This torque is recorded by means of an electric measuring system, consisting for example of a solenoid plunger (21) attached to the lever and of coils (21, 22), cooperating with the latter, on the indicator. By displacement of the solenoid plunger as a result of bending of the lever, a corresponding current is induced in the coils (22, 23), which can be read off on an electric measuring instrument. If the latter is appropriately calibrated, the torque can be directly read off. This provides a very accurate device for determining the torque on a torque wrench, with or without electronics. <IMAGE>
