<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts in a circuit, simplify the whole constitution economically and facilitate assemblage and adjustment by supplying voltage to an electric motor according to the steering angle speed of a steering wheel without using a torque sensor and a steering angle sensor. CONSTITUTION:A steering wheel is turned to rotate a rotary encoder of a steering angle speed sensor 10 and detect calculatively right and left rotational directions and steering angle speed by a controller 18 from the pulse generating manner and the number of pulses. And the rotational direction and voltage amount of an electric motor 15 are determined on the basis of that calculative result. At the same time a clutch 17 is engaged to transmit the turning force of the electric motor 15 to a second pinion gear, and operates a rack gear 14 for power shift. Thus the whole constitution is simplified to reduce the number of parts so that an economical power steering gear easy to assemble and adjust can be provided.</p> |
