PURPOSE:To prevent contamination of white parts, ensure favorable abrasion resistance and a clear printed density and enable gradations to be expressed, by providing a thermally transferrable dye layer and a microcapsule layer obtained by microencapsulating an organic solvent capable of dissolving the dye, on one side of a base sheet in an arbitrary order. CONSTITUTION:A thermally transferrable dye layer 2 is provided on one side of a base sheet 1, and a microcapsule layer 3 obtained by microencapsulating an organic solvent capable of dissolving the dye is provided thereon. Alternatively, the microcapsule layer 3 is provided on one side of the base sheet 1, and the thermally transferrable dye layer 2 is provided thereon. By conducting thermal printing on an image-receiving paper 5 by using the thermal transfer sheet obtained as above, a method of obtaining a better developed color density and a richer expression of gradations can be realized. Where the image-receiving paper 5 has a disperse dye dyable type resin layer 52 at the surface thereof, a printed image 6 is more excellent in color development properties and gradation expression properties. |
