<p>PURPOSE:To improve the data processing efficiency by transferring the count value of a counter to a register regardless of the execution of an instruction when the edge of the signal applied to an external signal input terminal arrives. CONSTITUTION:When the leading edge of the signal applied to the external signal input terminals 30-80 arrives, an input controller 1700 sends the count value of a counter 800 to a switch circuit 900 via a data bus 400 for the selection of the corresponding register in a register file 250. Then the controller 1700 transmits a writing command signal to the register. Thus it is possible to fetch instantaneously the arrival timing of the external signal into a processor compared with the conventional method using an interruption.</p> |
