To avoid muscle tenseness and create a relaxed reclined position, for example when reading or watching television, it is sensible to support the body in the region of the upper body and head by means of an angled support. For those confined to bed, too, it is often essential to be able to sit up without difficulty. While on holiday or staying at a health resort and also when travelling, we really do not like going without our home comforts. The solution presented here can be used anywhere by virtue of the small dimensions and light weight. The air wedge is inflated via a foot-operated air pump and is thus easy to inflate even for elderly people without exertion. The infinitely variable height adjustment takes place via a three-way valve which allows the air to be released (down to the horizontal neutral position) without effort and without leaving the resting place. The height adjustor can be used both in the upper-body region and in the foot region, as desired.
