PURPOSE:To obtain a recording apparatus low in running cost and having high reliability, by providing a rotary body rotating according to recording operation, a recording head heating the rotary body according to image information and a means for supplying ink having an overcooling characteristic to the rotary body. CONSTITUTION:A rotary belt 1 rotates to the direction shown by an arrow (a) and together a recording head 5 generates heat according to image information. The ink layer 4c applied to the rotary belt 1 is selectely heated and melted by said heat and the molten ink is transferred and recorded to a recording sheet 2. Further, ink is applied and supplied to the belt 1 in a membrane form at the position of an ink supply means 4a. That is, the ink on the surface of an ink roller 4a is melted by the heat of a heating roller 4b and applied and supplied to the rotary belt 1 from the ink roller 4a. Because the supplied ink has an overcooling characteristic, the ink is applied in a membrane form with high reliability and solidified before the belt 1 rotates to reach the position of the recording head 5 to form the ink layer 4c. |
