PURPOSE:To decide that a card equipped with no reading means is false even when a card where a transaction processing code and ID information are stored is reproduced by providing the transaction processing card with a reading means for a pattern for truth/falsehood discrimination. CONSTITUTION:When the IC card 1 is set on the card handling mechanism 11 of a terminal equipment, the CPU of the IC card 1 discriminates whether or not a readout command is received from the terminal equipment. When the CPU 12 of the terminal equipment transmits a readout command to the IC card 1, on the other hand, the CPU of the IC card 1 reads the optical pattern 11a of the card handling mechanism 11 of the terminal equipment and transmits the read optical pattern information to the terminal equipment. The CPU 12 of the terminal equipment receives the optical pattern information from the IC card 1 and compares it with optical pattern information in a RAM 14; when both pieces of pattern information conform with each other, the transaction processing of the IC card 1 is carried out and when not, a display and a warning of an illegal card are made. |
