A first light point(2) defines the information detection point on a recorded track(1), and two further points (3,4) are projected on to the track along its two edges. The reflections of the points(3,4) are detected by receivers (5,6) and the difference between them is provided as an output signal by an operational amplifier (7). This output (C) represents the mis-alignment of the detection point (2) w.r.t. the track. The error signal (C) is transmitted by a corrector (8) and loop switch(9) to an attack amplifier(10).
