In order to reduce or to avoid acid rain, smog, earthquakes and seaquakes it is essential to provide cavities, for breathing purposes, beneath houses and traffic surfaces. In this arrangement, it must be the job of the structural engineer to decide, for each individual object, on the shape, the material and the thickness of foundations and cellar-floor coverings. Likewise, the development of a porous, air-permeable road covering which can be driven upon and walked upon is the responsibility of the development departments. It is only by removing the asphalt and cement coverings from the earth's crust and by building on foundations that all environmental pollution will again be located above the clouds, acid rain and smog will disappear and volcanic activity will be reduced. To reduce or to avoid the wastage of drinking water and the over-acidification of the ground, double-TANDEM water supply lines and drainage lines are to be installed. The selection and quality of the materials used should also be the responsibility of the structural designers in this case. Sewage and rainwater tanks supply natural fertilizer for gardens and agriculture, and water for toilet flushing, sprinkling gardens or fields, car-washing, etc. <IMAGE>
