<p>PURPOSE:To enable accumulated particles on a particulate filter to be securely and efficiently burned and removed by increasing the spray pressure of catalytic solution sprayed from a nozzle as the exhaust pressure becomes higher. CONSTITUTION:A particulate filter 10 which gathers flammable particles in exhaust gases is provided in an exhaust passage 2. On the upstream side of the particulate filter 10, a nozzle 21 equipped with a pump 24 is provided to spray catalytic solution on the filter 10. In response to the output of an exhaust pressure detecting means 30 provided on the upstream side of the filter 10, as the exhaust pressure becomes higher, the spray pressure of catalytic solution sprayed from the nozzle 21 is increased by spray pressure control means 31 and 33.</p> |
