The invention concerns a further development of a method of transmitting information via tone signalling via a connected telephone line B, where an information transmitter A makes a call to an information receiver C and where after the telephone connection is established a speech machine 19 linked to the information transmitter sends a first audio message such as "Who are you? What do you want?" to the information transmitter and where the information transmitter replies to the audio message which was sent by transmitting to the information receiver via the keypad 10a on a telephone apparatus linked to the information transmitter a code based on tone-signalling, which is received and checked and in the event of passing the checking causes the speech machine 19 to emit a second audio message intended to provide further information about the continued actions of the information transmitter, namely to transmit via tone- signalling a required message, such as article number (quantity) and the like. The invention indicates that in addition to this message transmission 10a taking place by using the keypad of the telephone apparatus, it can take place by passing a light-pen 1 over a bar code 2 and the signal read off being converted 4-7 into a form suitable for the abovementioned tone signalling. <IMAGE> |
