PURPOSE:To stop when necessary a compressor of an air conditioner and to prevent the drive force of a motor vehicle from being reduced by controlling the compressor by means of signals from a negative pressure sensor attached to a carburetor of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 2-10 of an air conditioner of a motor vehicle is driven through transmission means 2-6 through 2-9 by an engine 2-2. Here, a carburetor portion 2-4 of the engine 2-1 is provided with a negative pressure sensor 2-5, and the output signals of the sensor 2-5 are sent to a negative pressure-sensing compressor control circuit 2-13. When the negative pressure reduces below a value set by a negative pressure-sensing setting unit 2-14, compressor clutch 2-9 is controlled by a control circuit 2-13 to stop the compressor 2-10. In this case, the output signals from the negative pressure-sensing compressor control circuit 2-13 are given priority over the output signals from a temperature-sensing compressor control circuit 2-11. |
