Recording device for determining the position of the lower jaw in relation to the upper jaw during central occlusion. Three parallel-arranged sleeves (Fig. 2.1) each provided with a thread are polymerized on the individually-produced imprint spoon (Fig. 1.1) and equipped with screws, the length of which can be adjusted by modifying the screwing-in depth. With the additional aid of a correspondingly-shaped bite-fork it is possible to fix with these screws a recording indicator plate (Fig. 7) in the occlusion plane of the patient. The recording indicator plate is equiped with an extension to receive a transfer base (Fig. 7.6). The functional spoon for making the imprint of the lower jaw is provided with three or four parallel-arranged pins (Fig. 4.2) allowing the acceptance of a plate that carries a recording stylus (Fig. 3.1) which, depending on the operating pressure in the lower jaw, is varied in height in such a way that, after contact has been made by the recording stylus on the upper jaw recording indicator plate, the patient exhibits a jaw separation of 2-3 mm under the suspension position at rest, and in such a way that depending on the colour-mmarking of the upper jaw recording indicator plate, it is possible to record the arrow angle in a typical manner. To code the recording, use is made of a modified pen plate which ensures that the pen can reproduce the acquired arrow angle (Fig. 7.1) at the same height and same position. A wedged-shape accessory (Fig. 7.2) ensures, after fixing on the recording plate by linear application on the modified recording stylus plate in combination with locking of the stylus, reliable three-point support and coding of the recording.
