The invention relates to the support, in a manner secure against vibration, of shaft ends in the region of a torsionally elastic shaft coupling. In order to be able to arrange a large flywheel mass on the driving side and in order to reliably support it without the need to make the shaft diameter very large, a tubular bearing journal extending on the driven side, connected to drive-side coupling parts and supported in an outer bearing in the coupling housing, which is held rigid, is provided. In this arrangement, it is possible to connect the elastic elements of the coupling, for example the leaf springs of a Geislinger coupling in a radially inner diameter to the driving shaft, it being possible to employ a short driving shaft, thereby achieving a short overall length of the coupling.
