A protective wall structure for armoured vehicles having an armoured wall for protection against armour-piercing rounds, such as shaped-charge and inertia rounds, and having protection means against secondary splinters as occur, particularly as a result of shock-wave interference on the impact of the round and when sharp objects or rounds penetrate through the armour wall, on the side where the sharp object or round emerges from the latter. On the side of the armoured wall on which the sharp object or round emerges there is a further wall structure at a distance from said armoured wall which provides an air gap, as its fragment protection means, the further wall structure and its air gap from the armoured wall having relatively small expansions in the direction of the perpendicular to the wall, in comparison with the armoured wall.
