PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce L-tryptophan inexpensively, by forming L-tryptophan from indole and DL-serine by the use of a mold and then reusing D-serine in the reaction solution. CONSTITUTION:Indole and DL-serine as raw materials are reacted by the use of a microorganism capable of producing L-tryptophan from indole and DL- serine or a treated material of the mold, to form L-tryptophan. Then, the mold or the treated material of the mold is removed, D-serine in the reaction is treated with an enzyme into L-serine and it is used as an L-serine feed source in formation of l-tryptophan. The reaction between the indole and DL-serine is carried out in 0.1 M phosphoric acid buffer solution or an aqueous solution adjusted with water, etc., to 7-9pH at about 20-50 deg.C for about 1-72hr in the same way as a conventional enzymatic reaction. |
