PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a life of a machine part, by a method wherein, when an overload is detected during operation for regulation of attitude of a steering wheel as an onvehicle equipment, an attitude regulating direction is reversed, and after an overload is released, energization to a driving source is stopped. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle equipped with a seat rotation mechanism, a tilt steering mechanism, and a telescopic steering mechanism as onvehicle equipments, motors M1-M3 are mounted as their respective driving sources for the mechanism. Potentiometers PM1-PM3, detecting attitude of their respective mechanisms, and attitude set switches SW1-SW4, instructing regulation of attitude of their respective mechanisms, are provided. Control is effected such that, operation for regulation of attitude of a steering wheel, a CPU detects the presence of an overload, and when an overload is detected, the regulation direction of attitude is reversed, and after the onvehicle equipment is released from an overload after reversing, energization to the motors M1 and M2 is stopped. |
