It achieves the object of hurling any kind of article placed on the reception plate of the device in a specific direction and over a specific distance. To this end, the device comprises a frame which supports a target on a pivotable arm, while a hurling arm is pivotably fastened to the opposite end, which arm has a plate onto which articles can be placed. This hurling arm, which is spring-loaded, can be horizontally adjusted and can be locked together with the target and/or the arm of the latter. Throwing a ball at the target releases the lock and the hurling arm hurls the article which is situated on the feed plate in a specific direction so that it can be caught at a distance of approximately 3 metres. The target can be replaced by different kinds of targets. The hurling effect of the hurling arm can be regulated.
