PURPOSE:To provide a polishing agent compsn. for leather, which allows easy polishing, does not cause dusting and can impart excellent polish to leather, by incorporating wax, etc. in a solvent mixture consisting of halogenated hydrocarbons in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:A solvent mixture consisting of S-tetrachlorodifluoroethane (A) and 1,1,1-trichloroethane and/or 1,1,2-trifluoro-1,2,2-trichloroethane (B) in a weight ratio of 95:5-40:60. 0.5-20wt% wax such as polyvinyl ether of octadecyl alcohol, lanolin or spermaceti, 0.3-10wt% water- and oil-repellent and 0.3-10wt% polishing aid are incorporated in said solvent mixture, each quantity being based on the total quantity of compsn.
