The mowing machine comprises a beam with rotor discs on vertical axes and a rearwards oblique swath guide at one or both ends. The discs are in two groups (5,6;7,8,9) rotating in opposite directions (12,13). The outermost ones (5,9) rotate so that their leading edges deliver towards each other. There is a swath guide at the rear of the beam at each end (36,46), the guides converging in the rearwards direction to form a single swath.
