Rule for reading, measuring and calculation for analysis of an electrocardiogram (ECG) traced in any one of the conventional leads of the electrodes of an electrocardiograph. The rule is characterised in that it comprises two logarithmic scales DI and VF disposed opposite each other and sliding with respect to each other, so as to allow them to be positioned so as in particular to calculate the ratio between the net amplitudes of the QRS complex in the standard lead DI and in the unipolar lead aVF, and in that it also comprises a double scale b1 or b2 of supplementary angle values corresponding to the inverse tangent of the said ratio between the said DI and aVF leads and therefore to the heart axis of the QRS complex.
