<p>A filter apparatus for removing contaminants directly from paper handling machines in data processing rooms. Such contaminants include paper dust and carbon black from high speed paper handling machines such as computer printers (14), paper cutters and the like. The apparatus comprises a wheeled housing (20) having a top cover (23) with an outlet grille (24). A squirrel cage fan (28) is suspended from the cover (23) beneath the grille (24). A filter pack (44) is mounted beneath the fan (28). The bottom of the housing (20) has an inlet opening (18) connected to a duct (13) which passes air from the machine being serviced, through the filter pack (44) and out the grille (24). A vacuum motor (38) is mounted in the bottom of the housing (20) and connected to a flexible hose (40) for picking up material on the floor as well as spillage from inside the data processing machines. This material is passed through an in-line filter (43). The air from both the duct (13) and the flexible hose (40) is passed through the filter pack (44).</p> |
