PURPOSE:To perfectly eliminate boring damage at the bottom part of separator and save the electrolyte and sufficiently ensure effective amount of liquid by integrally providing a flat saddle which is in contact with the pole plate in 30% or more of the width thereof to the internal bottom surface of battery case. CONSTITUTION:A flat saddle 6 which is in contact with pole plate at 30% or more of the width thereof is provided integrally to the internal bottom surface of battery case 5 which accommodates pole plate group. It is desirable that such flat saddle 6 has the height of 1-3mm. and a curved portion in radius of 0.5mm. or more is provided to the angled portion of saddle. Moreover, it is effective that the upper surface 7 of saddle 6 is formed as the rough surface and the saddle 6 is provided in such a way that the convex and concave portions are formed in almost the same thickness as the bottom part of the battery case. Thereby, even if mechanical vibration is applied on a lead storage battery, boring damage at the bottom part of separator can be prevented by receiving an impact on the entire part of pole plate group with the wide saddle providing the curved portion at the angled part thereof and frictional effect can be obtained through the rough surface at the upper part of saddle and lateral sliding can also be prevented. Moreover, useless electrolyte existing between saddles at the lower side of pole plate group can be reduced by reducing the height of saddle. |
