PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical access system in which no maintenance is required for subscriber terminals and optical multiplexers/demultiplexers of nodes and required control is conducted entirely by a station side. SOLUTION: An outgoing optical digital signal is generated at a 1st point, a clock signal for each (n)-bit ((n) is an integer being 2 or over) in the optical digital signal is set to '1' and outgoing information is made up of optical digital signals except the optical clock pulse train for each (n)-bit and sent to a transmission line 4. At a 2nd point, the optical digital signal is demodulated while eliminating the optical clock signal pulse train for each (n)-bit, an optical gate circuit of an optical receiver 12 receiving the outgoing optical digital signal generates the incoming optical digital signal consisting of incoming information data synchronously with the optical pulse train for each (n)-bit and returns the signal to the transmission line 4. At the 1st point, the incoming optical digital signal sent from the 2nd point is received from the transmission line 4. |
