MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide excellent running property, wear resistance and electromagnetic conversion characteristic to the titled medium by forming a layer contg. phosphate having 2-3 fluoroalkyl groups in the molecule on the surface of a thin ferromagnetic metallic film. CONSTITUTION:The layer contg. the phosphate having 2-3 fluoroalkyl groups in the molecule is provided on the surface of the thin ferromagnetic metallic film provided on a non-magnetic substrate. The fluoroalkyl phosphate compd. to be used has preferably the perfluoroalkyl groups of >=4 C, more preferably the perfluoroalkyl of <=6 C. The thickness of a protective and lubricating layer is 0.5-100mg/m<2>. The formation as a uniform film is difficult and the running properly and durability are not enough if the thickness is <=0.5mg/m<2>. The electromagnetic conversion characteristic is deteriorated by the spacing loss between head tapes if the thickness is >=100mg/m<2>.
