The device comprises a control solenoid valve 6; a control jack 30, 32; a three-way directional control valve 33; a power jack 48, 50 actuating the valve 2 of the engine. The directional control valve 33 is a directional control valve with seats 58, 60 whose movable switching member is a ball 42. The device allows a more rapid response and a lower spread over the various valves than known devices comprising a directional control valve with a slide. <IMAGE>
