Method for driving a massage appliance

In a method for driving a massage appliance having at least two applicators, the applicators, e.g. vibrators or electrodes, which transmit electrical oscillations and/or mechanical vibrations onto the body, are alternately driven. This results in the sigma -phenomena which are particularly relaxing in effect. Driving the applicators can be performed using one or more frequencies. In the case of driving using a plurality of frequencies, it is possible, e.g. starting with a lower cutoff frequency f1, to increase the frequency in a stepwise fashion up to an upper cutoff frequency fn after reaching which the frequency is again reduced in a stepwise fashion down to the lower cutoff frequency f1. In other words, this means that the applicators transmit oscillations/vibrations onto the body firstly in slow then in ever quicker alternation, until the oscillations are performed at the upper cutoff frequency fn. Subsequently, oscillations/vibrations are transmitted onto the body in ever slower alternation until the alternations are performed again at the lower cutoff frequency f1. Each of the frequencies used can be permanently set, so that the alternations are performed only at this set frequency. It is possible in this way to determine the individually optimum frequency and to set it.
