PURPOSE:To enhance printing resistance by incorporating a specified amount of impurities made of an element of group III or V of the periodic table in a protective layer made of a carbon film like diamond. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by successively laminating an amorphous silicon photosensitive layer and the protective layer made of the carbon film like diamond on a conductive substrate, and this protective layer contains an element of group III or V of the periodic table as the impurities in an atomic ratio of 1X10<-7>-8X10<-4> per the carbon atom in the protective layer. If said atomic ratio is <1X10<-7>, the carbon film lowers in electric resistance, and a sharp image cannot be obtained at the time of printing. If >8X10<-4>, the protective layer lowers again in resistance, and it is not preferable. The addition of said impurities in such an amount permits the protective layer to be made much harder than the one not containing said impurities and superior in abrasion resistance. |
