<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character recognizing method of high quality by managing the quality for each word after character recognition. SOLUTION: Data is received (S200), optical character recognition technology is applied to the received data (S204) to generate a word group (S208), then for the generated word group, a word group precision value is calculated (S212) by using a character precision value calculated by an OCR program of a computer system. As an embodiment for calculation of the word group precision value, the character precision value is binarized, varied, and averaged to make a fuzzy visually display of the word precision value. The calculated word group precision value is adjusted by applying a language rule in contrast with a stored work list according to the known advantages and disadvantages of OCR. A system which has plural OCR technologies compares precision values as to word groups of different versions so as to find out the version of the highest precision.</p> |
