PURPOSE:To obtain cut out picture image information with high quality having a smooth boundary part by making smoothening of edge part of mask information before cutting out the picture image information from original picture image information. CONSTITUTION:Composite data 50 of mask data and image data are inputted from a terminal 24 of a masking processing circuit, delayed by 1 line respectively by shift registers 23a, 23b and further delayed by one picture element delay elements 22a-22f respectively. Data of masking data 51-1 of 9 bits of 3X3 periphery of output 21a-21i are added by an adder 30, outputted as data of 4 bits, compared with threshold value data from a threshold value holding section 33 in a comparator 32, and outputted to a terminal 34 as binary coded data. The threshold data can be selected properly by a manual, and smoothening characteristic can be changed. Only picture image data of cut out part out of picture element data 52 is outputted to a binary coding processing circuit according to smoothened masking data. |
