PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initial activation method of hydrogen storage alloy, which enables giving a stable activation process in a short time. SOLUTION: For initial activating of the hydrogen storage alloy, the inside of a container storing hydrogen storage alloy is vacuum pumped, then hydrogen is introduced into the container as it is heated to a temperature from 40 deg.C to 95 deg.C.
