PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device offering simple construction allowing the detection of the obliquely colliding condition of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This collision form determining device 20 comprises collision form determining means 30 for determining the oblique collision of the vehicle. The collision form determining means 30 has initial collision detecting means 32 for detecting the initial colliding condition of the vehicle in accordance with the deceleration of the vehicle detected by first deceleration detecting means 22 and right and left decelerations on the front of the vehicle detected by second deceleration detecting means 24, 26, integral computation means 36 for integrating each of right and left decelerations by a time and computing a deceleration integral value when the initial collision of the vehicle is detected by the initial collision detecting means 32 and oblique collision determining means 38 for determining whether the collision of the vehicle is oblique collision or not in accordance with the deceleration integral value.
