An apparatus for recovering a methane-enriched gas from a mixture comprising methane and carbon dioxide consists of at least two separators having a membrane with selectivity for the permeation of carbon dioxide. The nonpermeate gas from the first separator is conducted to a subsequent separator. The carbon dioxide enriched permeator from the first and subsequent separators is withdrawn and the latter is conducted to the fuel inlet of a combustion engine used for generating power for the process. |
