PURPOSE:To enhance the feed accuracy of recording paper and to smooth the feed and delivery thereof, by feeding paper by rotating a drum and alternatively applying opening/closing control to a recording paper delivery path and a recording paper feed path. CONSTITUTION:When recording is started, a paper feed path closing guide member 22 opens a paper feed path, recording paper 2 is fed to a grasping position and a drum 16 is rotated by definite quantity toward a direction H. A spring 18 contracts and a clamp 17 is drawn near to the drum 16 while a grasping part 19 is closed to grasp the recording paper 2. When the drum 16 rotates to the direction H, an ink ribbon 20 also moves to the direction shown by an arrow to start thermal transfer recording. The guide member 22 closes the recording paper feed path simultaneously with the completion of the recording of one color. A platen roller 12 is rotated to a recording return direction and the drum 16 freely rotates to return the recording paper. Then, the next color recording is started. After the recording of all of colors was completed, the drum 16 rotates to the direction shown by an arrow I from the stop position at the completion time of the return of the recording paper and the recording paper grasping part 19 is opened and the platen roller 12 rotates to the recording paper return direction to guide the recording paper to a delivery path 23. |
