In the case of a device for mounting a hose clamp (4) on a hose (10) before the hose (10) is pushed together with the clamp (4) (which is prefitted on the hose) onto a pipe stub (13) or the like, especially the pipe stub of the radiator (14) of an internal-combustion engine, and the clamp (4) which has a tensioning closure (3) is tensioned, in order to simplify the construction of the mounting device and in order to increase the reliability with respect to a change in position of the hose clamp which is used for mounting the hose on the pipe stub, before the hose is pushed onto the pipe stub, it is ensured that the mounting device has a retaining ring (1), which is connected by virtue of material to the hose (10), has an internal diameter corresponding to the external diameter of the hose (10) and has a retaining hole (2) for the tensioning closure (3), which retaining hole (2) is open towards the inside of the retaining ring (1) and is connected to an access (5), which is located on the outside of the outer ring (1), for the tensioning closure (3), in order to operate said tensioning closure. <IMAGE>
