PURPOSE:To compact side shift buggies and to reduce installation cost by equipping independent buggies to support a roll assembly under the parts of roll axle boxes at both sides of the roll assembly with a pair of upper and lower rolls. CONSTITUTION:At rearranging the rolls, new work roll assemblies 1, 10 are loaded on a side shift buggy (e.g., a side of 32b) to wait ready. Next, as to the other buggy 32a, its center is allowed to coincide with the center of roll shaft by actuating cylinders 330a, 330b, then, the used upper and lower work roll assemblies 1, 10 in housing 9 are drawn out on the buggy 32a by a tractor truck 7. And then, an automatic coupling device is opened, the cylinders 330a, 330b are moved back to a stroke end of the upper direction and the buggy 32b on the opposite side is moved forward to coincide a center of the new assemblies 1, 10 to the center of roll shaft. Thereafter, by the same procedure as usual apparatus, the new assemblies 1, 10 are pushed into the housing 9 by the tracter truck 7, to perform rearranging the rolls. |
