In a partition wall 1 between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment of a motor vehicle, which wall 1 is provided with a noise-damping coating in the form of a layer 2 of foamed material and with a cover layer 3 which covers the latter and serves as a carrier for components, for example an ignition coil 4, arranged in the engine compartment, the components are not attached to the metal partition wall 1 but rather to the cover layer 3 or to a holder 13 connected thereto. As a result, the interruptions in the noise-damping coating which are otherwise necessary are avoided and, on the one hand, the mass of the cover layer is increased by the weight of the components and their holders and as a result their noise-damping effect is increased and, furthermore, an elastic bearing of the components is obtained without additional elements. <IMAGE> |
