Process and apparatus for treating waste water in storage reservoirs

In a process for treating waste water in storage reservoirs under anaerobic and/or aerobic conditions, to avoid odour pollution and emissions of toxic substances it is provided to take off surface water from the outflow region of the storage reservoir 1 via a pipe 4, to treat this surface water with a gas containing more oxygen than air via a gassing device 6, to return it in the pipe 4 to the intake region of the storage reservoir 1 and there to release it into the upper water layer.
