The invention relates to a discharge boom, which can be raised and lowered, for spreaders. The aim is to reduce of the danger of vibration in booms having intermediate masts. The object consists in ensuring that the intermediate masts are supported in a stable manner. This is achieved in that the intermediate mast is constructed with one shaft in its upper half but with two shafts in the lower half and is mounted together with the main mast in the axis of rotation of the boom at the tower, and in that the first panel, which is connected to the tower, or the two first panels are suspended, via an intermediate attachment at the centre of the intermediate mast, from the tip of the main mast. The invention is suitable, in particular, for direct casting spreaders. <IMAGE>
