A description is given of a process for the simple production of prefabricated, rounded or tapered skirting corner pieces and prefabricated skirting radii, of L-shaped cross-section, from thermoplastic material. In order to produce the corner pieces and radii, a straight portion of a prefabricated skirting-board profile is heated to the thermoplastic state and is then deformed corresponding to the desired shape. In this arrangement, the wall leg is correspondingly bent and the skirting base is correspondingly expanded or upset. After the deformation, the profile portion is cooled, while maintaining the shape. The skirting corner pieces and skirting radii produced in this manner can be welded, have the same surface properties as the corresponding skirting profiles and are also very dimensionally stable, even under thermal loading.
