摘要 The wind guard (12, 13) for an external building gas duct (6, 8, 11) is arranged in the area of the gas passage which is exposed to the effect of the wind. It has a heat recuperator (12) with a large number of elongate bristle-like projections which are irregularly orientated. The projections define multiple gas passageways between them, of irregular curved shape. As the passageways have an irregular orientation and number, they cuase heavy turbulence to be generated and thus an increase in gas flow resistance in those of the passages exposed to gusts of wind. - A manifold box (5) for various building gas ducts can be arranged in front of the gas duct. (9pp) USAB- US4688473 A The wind guard is for sustaining a gentle flow of gas in a gas passageway between a building and the atmosphere surrounding the building and of reducing the wind effect of the atmosphere on the flow of gas. A heat recovery arrangement is provided with a number of projections which form between them a number of gas passageways of irregular curved form. The projections may be heat-conducting and may be connected in a thermally conductive fashion to the heat recovery arrangement to increase the thermal absorption capacity of the latter. - The heat recovery arrangement may be provided inside the gas passageway in the form of an outwardly inclined jacket, so that the gas which has been cooled by the heat exchange process can fall downwards into the area of the gas passageway.
